What thickness of glass do you use for frameless shower doors?

It depends on the style. Frameless enclosures with swinging doors come in 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch tempered glass, and most of the swinging doors we install are 3/8-inch. Sliding shower enclosures are available in 1/4-inch, 5/16-inch or 3/8-inch glass, depending on the model.

What is the difference between standard clear glass and low-iron glass?

Standard clear glass has a slight green tint, most noticeable on the edges, because of the iron in the glass. Low-iron glass has most of that iron removed, so it is clearer and shows the true colors of your tile and stone. Ask us about low-iron glass when you request your quote.

Do frameless shower doors leak?

A properly measured and installed frameless enclosure keeps water inside the shower under normal use. Because frameless doors don’t have a full metal frame, we use clear seals and door sweeps and plan the door and panel layout around your showerhead to keep water where it belongs.

How long does the whole process take, from measuring to installation?

The entire process can take as little as one and a half to two weeks on average. One day to take the exact measurements (approximately one hour to do so). 3 to 5 working days to have the glass fabricated and delivered to us. Average install can be anywhere from 3 to 5 hours.
